There are many options for outreach here at The Lutheran Parish of the Tonawanda’s. Join us as we serve the community!
LPOT Social Ministry sponsors programs and activities involving members of the Parish. Through God’s work, we use our hands to reach out to the world, our nation, our community and our church family.
LPOT Social Ministry meets at St. Mark the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. except July.
The purpose of Saturday’s Bread (Mission Meal) is to put the Gospel into action and to unite the church in providing nourishment, both physically and spiritually, to the community. Come join us for lunch every third Saturday of the month at noon. Location: St. Mark Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.
The LPOT Food Pantry is open the third and fourth Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon. A client, who lives in the area, may visit once a month and fill a standard grocery bag. We have one pound of ground beef available as well as one quart of chowder made by St. Mark. The Pantry is kept supplied by the people of LPOT, as well as groups that run food drives for us. Volunteer time and contributions are always welcome.
The Chowder Ministry’s mission is to support outreach programs that provide services to the needy in our community and beyond. The Chowder Ministry also encourages and supports outreach to the homebound in our community through our LPOT Care Team and church members.
